How We Review Phones — Methodology

Last reviewed: June 2026 · Next review: December 2026.

Every phone page on this site has a score or a verdict. This document explains how those are reached, who reaches them, and when hands-on testing is and is not part of the process.

When we have hands-on access

When a phone is available for hands-on evaluation — through personal purchase, a review unit from an authorised distributor, or a device the editor has personally bought — our assessment is based on direct testing over a minimum of three days of real use (calling, messaging, camera, social media, video, and battery from full charge). Performance is benchmarked with standard tools against the device’s price tier, and display, build and in-hand feel are assessed in person. Hands-on assessments note the firmware version at the time of testing.

When we do not have hands-on access

The majority of phones on this site — newly launched devices, older models, and grey-market imports — are assessed without direct testing, and we are honest about this. The verdict is then based on official specification sheets, processor-tier classification from recognised benchmark databases, camera-spec analysis compared with devices we have tested at the same price, published reviews from credible technology publications, verified Nepal-buyer feedback where available, and our experience with comparable devices. These pages carry a clear disclosure: “This assessment is based on official specifications and published benchmark data. We have not tested this device directly.”

Nepal-specific evaluation factors

For every device we apply Nepal-specific criteria most international sites ignore: whether the device is officially imported through an authorised Nepal distributor, whether the warranty is valid for Nepal purchases, the actual Nepal market price (not the India or global price), whether authorised service centres exist in Nepal, and whether the device supports the bands used by Ncell and Nepal Telecom.

Who conducts evaluations

All phone evaluations are conducted or supervised by (SEO & Editorial Lead). Where community feedback is incorporated, it is cited and attributed.

Review schedule

This methodology is reviewed every six months, or sooner if there is a significant change in how phones are sold or serviced in Nepal.
